I’ve got to say babies are some of my favorite subjects to photograph. They don’t really model, and they certainly don’t pretend to be happy when they are not. Even though that can seem like it would be frustrating, the result is pure, unadulterated honesty. What you see in an image of a baby is reality. They are sweet, charming little things even when they are screaming their heads off. Trust me. I have plenty of shots of babies crying.
This is not a happy baby, yet to me this photo still evokes a sense of happiness. Maybe it’s because this little guy is simply adorable in his little snow cap, but maybe it’s just because he’s expressing himself in a totally vulnerable way. It’s admirable.
I don’t think I even need to explain why this one is adorable. I mean, come on. It’s a baby in a hat and tie.
This baby can see into your soul. Not really, but it kind of feels that way. I love his seriousness.
I won’t continue to post photos here since you can see the whole session on the link at the bottom, but I will leave you with a baby in a suitcase. You seriously can’t beat that.
