So, I know I’m a little late to be discussing Christmas 2014, but I also could just be doing a great job of getting you excited for Christmas 2015! I don’t have any fun snow photos to share because our Christmas entirely happens in mostly Southern states. I say mostly because though Georgia is distinctly Southern, Virginia is mostly Southern. We are more border line (Northerners say we’re Southern and Southerners say we’re Northern) but I digress.
Every year Paul and I save up a large portion of our vacation time and make the great trek across the Southeast to visit as many loved ones as possible. It’s awesome, exhausting, sweetly simple, with a complicated timeline. We wouldn’t change a second of it; even the parts where unnamed family members get tired and cranky. 😉 I’m mostly referring to myself.
To me Christmas time is a big adventure for this reason. It’s two weeks filled with chaos, love, lots of hugs, and even more delicious food. I love catching up with family we only get to see a few times a year or less. It’s also a nice reminder to soak up time. Savor it. Every moment, even the crappy ones, counts. I know I sound like a huge cliché, but the older I get the more I understand it.
This is a small sample. You can view some more highlights from our Christmas road trip here: http://www.turtleharephotography.com/Christmas-2014
