How many weddings end with the bride flawlessly performing “Rolling on the River” with the band to end a night of dancing? That moment perfectly wrapped up the roaring celebration of Anna and Reed. Opting to have both the intimate appeal of a private ceremony behind Anna’s childhood home by the James River and the grand affair of a ballroom reception, surrounded by many friends and family members, Anna and Reed were able to have their ideal day with the people they love. This unique ceremony included several faith traditions, with the bride’s father officiating. The happy couple recessed down the aisle through confetti of fresh lavender. Adorned in neutral shades, the wedding party made a chic, subtle nod to the 1920s, adding fun hats for the reception. The celebration then moved the serenity of the river to the vibrancy of the city at The Hippodrome Theater in Richmond’s Jackson Ward neighborhood. The bride’s mother and a friend created custom movie posters with an old Hollywood vibe featuring the couple, complementing the venue’s decor and architectural features. There were beautiful custom lights throughout and fun casino games on the upper floor, adding to the flair of this ballroom bash. These two and their guests truly danced the night away and everyone scrumptious finishing touches of Nightingale ice cream sandwiches and Sugarbella’s handcrafted popcorn.
