New Kent Winery Vineyard Estate Wedding // Turtle & Hare Photography

Weddings

Wow, Julianna and Andrew’s New Kent Winery Vineyard Estate wedding was somehow even more beautiful than I expected. Being around them is like being with family. While she was getting ready, gracious Julianna asked if I needed anything. Their wedding embodied a spirit of warmth and care for each person in attendance, even the vendors working.

Julianna is the third of four sisters that I have been the wedding photographer for. I met her sister Jaye in college and have been blessed to be part of three very special couples’ weddings. It’s not often I know so many extended family members’ names when arranging portraits. If I had to summarize what I love about wedding photography, this would be a huge part of it. Making connections with a couple and their whole family brings me joy.

When asked why they chose their venue, they said, “The New Kent Winery Vineyard Estate is so beautiful, and we both love wine. It was the first venue that we loved everything. We can’t imagine getting married anywhere else.” They also felt that the Vineyard Estate fit the needs for their intimate wedding well. After being at their celebration, I have to agree, this was the perfect venue for them!

Custom signs made at Julianna’s parents’ DIY shop and beautiful greenery adorned the elegant reception barn and accompanying buildings and outdoor areas. The vines were luscious for intimate portraits under the last streaks of sunlight. From a special first look between Julianna and her dad to dancing the night away with all of their siblings, these two were surrounded by the love of their family and friends.

While still in the planning stages, I asked about their hopes and inspiration for their celebration. “I want our wedding to really be fun, we invited the people closest to us. It really is one big party and we could not imagine celebrating with anyone else. Since our wedding is small, I hope we are able to dance and enjoy alongside our guests. Our guests are the people who have been so supportive and by our sides the past four years, we are so excited that they are there to celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives! We wanted our wedding to be fun and intimate, we hope every guest leaves feeling special and that they had a great time!”

They were definitely successful in achieving all of this and more. Cheers to many happy years of holding hands, sipping wine, and living life together!
