Downtown Richmond Winter Engagement

Engagements

I don’t always recommend January for outdoor sessions. It can be extremely cold and gloomy out. However, this downtown Richmond winter engagement session proved me wrong! I hadn’t met Charleigh or Eric before but was excited to have this session together before their wedding this summer. Not only are engagement sessions great for providing photographic art for wedding decor and paper goods design, but they also serve as an introduction for us and can ease any nervousness you might have about being in front of the camera.

Not only did I get to know Charleigh and Eric, I was also able to meet their lovable pup Mabel. What a sweetheart! She was very excited to participate and get loved on by her people. Part of what I love about engagement sessions is being able to hear your love story. I love hearing how you met, what brought you together, and what you’re excited for in the future.

I was majorly impressed that these sweet folks drove 20 hours to make this session happen! They’re juggling big life moves as they begin their next chapter together – really exciting stuff! They effortlessly weaved in conversation, stolen glances and sweet smiles throughout our time together. Their ease in front of the camera made the whole experience quite fun, as did their stellar outfit choices.

Coupled with the joy of this fun and fashionable couple, this January day was filled with fair weather and sunny rays on a historic charm backdrop of the Church Hill area of Richmond. Who knows, maybe I’ll start suggesting more outdoor winter sessions! And needlessly to say, I’m looking forward to seeing these two again on their wedding day!
